Skin Report

Except a few breakouts my skin’s been doing a lot better, so I decided to write about Mederma as I promised before.

My face in the beginning of December. 

After the massive breakout I got during Summer - Fall of 2010 subsided, I was left with a bunch of acne scars as you can see in the picture (I had even more smaller acne scars on the other side of my cheek). So starting in December, I started to use the scar treatment, Mederma. 

I applied it 3-4 times a day, everyday for a month, until I got extremely lazy and stopped using it at the end of 2010. When applied, it has this stinging, slightly itchy feeling, and when I scratched my face I noticed that skin where it was applied started peeling off. I’m guessing Mederma works like a chemical exfoliator allowing skin cells to regenerate?

My skin now. The biggest acne scar next to my nose, and the other small ones have completely disappeared! I don’t know if Mederma actually made the scar to disappear faster than it would naturally, but at least it kept its promise. On the tub it says that if you apply daily 3-4 times a day, new scars will disappear in 6 weeks (old scars take longer). 

Pros: 

• I personally think it did help scars to go away faster, but I don’t have scientific way to prove it (lol)

Cons: 

• The area where you applied Mederma peels off… and can feel itchy. So it’s not really suitable to apply during daytime (unless you’re at home)

So that’s it! My skin normally gets better during the winter time for some reason, so I really really really hope my skin doesn’t break out again during the summer :/
